| It
all started when Matthew Schiller decided to model himself for
a class in 3D. |

|
| When
Kevin Jackson got a hold of the model he entertained himself
by panning around the character in Maya and pretending that
the character was skating. A few minutes later this evolved
into animating the camera to give the illusion of motion. Here
are the first playblasts ever created with Skater Matt: "Journey
Through Matt" and "Matt Flip." |

| Once
he started introducing props to the scene animating the camera
didn’t work so well. Kevin didn’t like it one bit
but he didn’t have a choice--he had to start animating
the character. As he soon found out realistic, exciting motion
was very possible when animating the geometry by itself. |

and Kevin joined forces like two polygons caught up in a Boolean
union, and the rest is history. |
